NEUROMODULATORS (BOTOX®, DYSPORT®, XEOMIN®)

Neuromodulators, Botox ®, Dysport®, and Xeomin® are used to relax the muscles to decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. They are mainly used to treat dynamic wrinkles which are lines created by the movement of muscles. They are derived from purified botulinum toxin, which safely alters the transmission of nerve impulses in the muscles causing wrinkles, allowing the wrinkles and lines of the skin to relax and soften. The most common areas are frown lines of the glabella (the “11”s between the eyebrows), forehead lines, and crows feet, which is the area surrounding the outside of the eye. They can also be used to add an arch to eyebrows, ease lines around the mouth, and give the corners of the mouth lift. Other common medical uses of

Neuromodulators are used for excessive underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis) and migraine headaches. Off label uses include platysmal bands (neck bands), masseters (jaw pain/grinding of the teeth), perioral area for gummy smiles and pebbly texture /wrinkles of the chin. Results usually take 3-7 days with the full result in 2 weeks and last approximately 3 months. For excess sweating, Botox or Dysport will last upwards to 6 months.  

XEOMIN®

XEOMIN® is another neurotoxin – it is in the same category as Botox® and Dysport®. It has fewer proteins than Botox®, possibly reducing the chance of resistance. If Botox® or Dysport® aren’t working, XEOMIN® may be an option.

DERMAL FILLERS

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours. There are different types of dermal fillers available. They differ in chemical make-up, longevity, and have varying degrees of softness. Softer fillers are used in the lips, while sturdier fillers might be used to enhance cheekbones. Your licensed practitioner will help determine with you the best type of dermal filler needed for your particular areas of concern. Common areas include cheeks, nasolabial folds, tear troughs (under eyes), perioral lines (wrinkles surrounding the lips), lips, chin and hands. Results can vary from 6-24 months depending on the filler used.  

RADIESSE®

RADIESSE® is an injectable filler made of a naturally occurring substance in the body called calcium hydroxyapatite. Radiesse restores a more youthful appearance to the face and hands (particularly good at this).

It improves sagging facial soft tissue and deep nasolabial folds by replenishing lost volume primarily in the cheek area. Additionally, it stimulates collagen production for gradual improvement over a period of one to three months. Final results can last up to one year.

RESTYLANE®

RESTYLANE® The hyaluronic acid in RESTYLANE® is almost identical to that found naturally in the body. RESTYLANE® is indicated for mid-to-deep dermal implantation for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. RESTYLANE® is also commonly used for lip augmentations. Restylane line of hyaluronic acid fillers provides natural-looking results by smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds (Restylane, Restylane Lyft), smoothing the lines around the mouth (Restylane Silk), and adding lift and volume to the cheeks (Restylane Lyft).

RESTYLANE® LYFT

RESTYLANE® LYFT, formerly known as PERLANE-L®, is an injectable hyaluronic acid gel used to correct volume loss and treat wrinkles in the face and hands. Through nonsurgical injections, RESTYLANE® LYFT is specifically designed to add fullness to the cheeks, midface area, and the back of the hands to help complete your aesthetic look — for face and hands.

RESTYLANE® SILK

RESTYLANE® SILK is the first FDA-approved product specifically designed for lip augmentation and the smoothing of wrinkles around the mouth in patients 21 years of age and older.

JUVÉDERM®

JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus

JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus is a hyaluronic acid gel that temporarily adds volume to facial tissues and smooths wrinkles. JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus is injected into areas of facial tissue where moderate to severe wrinkles and folds occur (most often around the nose and mouth). The injected gel adds immediate volume and restores a smoother appearance to the face. Results with JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus last about one year.

JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC

JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC adds more fullness and plumps thin lips—whether your lips have thinned over time or you simply want fuller lips. This dermal filler is similar to JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus, but JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC also contains a small amount of lidocaine, which is a local anesthetic that reduces discomfort during the procedure. This filler minimizes the appearance of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds around the mouth and nose, including nasolabial folds. Results with JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC can last nine months to one year.

JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® 

JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC

is tailored to add subtle volume to the lips and smooth the appearance of vertical lip lines. JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC is the first and only FDA-approved filler proven to increase lip fullness and correct perioral lines for up to 1 year*. Like other fillers, JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC injectable gel is a smooth, colorless hyaluronic acid (HA) gel that contains a small quantity of local anesthetic (lidocaine). JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC provides natural-looking results that last up to 1 year. 

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC is a long-acting dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine. It is the only filler that is FDA approved to correct volume loss in the midface caused by aging and is commonly used to add volume to the cheeks. Results with JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC last up to two years.

SCULPTRA®

SCULPTRA® Aesthetic is an FDA-approved collagen stimulator/injectable designed to gradually and subtly stimulate your skin’s own natural collagen production to help restore its inner structure and increase facial volume that has been lost to aging. It Is different from Hyaluronic Acid fillers in that it is not an instant quick-fix, however it is long lasting. It is unique in that it is a facial injectable that gives you subtle results over time, replacing lost collagen, giving you a more youthful, natural-looking appearance. The number of treatments varies depending on the structure and facial volume lost and results can last more than two years.
